Right now, friend, Colorado faces significant challenges – from inflationary tariff policies exacerbating the affordability crisis to skyrocketing health care premiums for working families.

But instead of delivering meaningful, commonsense solutions to Colorado's biggest problems, this is what President Trump is prioritizing:

See, Trump recently pardoned a long list of folks implicated in his plot to overthrow the 2020 presidential election – think Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, Mark Meadows, and dozens more.

But one co-conspirator he can't get off the hook is Tina Peters: the former clerk of Mesa County, Colorado, serving nine years in state prison for voting machine tampering.

So for the last few months, he's been railing for Peters' release, calling her a “brave and innocent Patriot who has been tortured by Crooked Colorado politicians.” That’s blatantly not true.

Under no circumstances should Tina Peters be released to Donald Trump and his corrupt Department of Justice.

Then, just the other week, the administration requested that Colorado transfer her to federal custody, so they can bypass our state judicial system and grant her unlawful premature release.

Don’t expect Trump to give up easily – because the story the headlines keep missing is this: Tina Peters is the FIRST election official nationwide to be convicted for participating in Trump's Big Lie. It happened here in Colorado, in Mesa County, by a jury of her peers.

That's why I keep saying Colorado can provide the leadership this country needs on how best to fight Trump, defeat his corrupt agenda, and forge a better politics than what we see coming out of Washington.

At this truly unprecedented time in Colorado's history, we will not solve our great challenges by giving in to Trump’s reckless agenda. Our state needs a leader with a deep understanding of what the federal government can and cannot do, how Trump thinks, and how best to protect our state from his criminality.
