Help Some Of The Poorest Families In The World
A worthy option this Giving Tuesday.

Hello readers,
It’s Giving Tuesday and I was hoping some of you would join me in making a contribution to GiveDirectly, which will pass along the proceeds as direct cash transfers to three villages in northern Rwanda.
It’s an unusually efficient way to help the world’s neediest people, if you have the means and inclination.
I’ve pledged a percentage of my December revenue, so technically my donation won’t come on Giving Tuesday, but the when is less important than the why.
I’ve partnered informally with over 30 other writers on Substack. Our goal is to raise $1,000,000. If we’re successful, 800 families will each receive $1,100 in direct cash with no strings attached.
There’s no catch here, or anything in it for me. And I certainly don’t make a habit of spamming subscribers with solicitations like this. But I’m proud of the engaged audience we’ve built, and feel good about mobilizing it toward credible, charitable ends from time to time.
