Friend, Let me tell you a story. Online safety became real for me when my colleague Jo Cox was killed. Jo was a brilliant, kind person who believed that we have more in common than divides us. The man who killed Jo was radicalized online, fed a diet of hate and conspiracy theories by algorithms that reward outrage. That moment changed everything. It wasn’t just about nasty comments or trolling; it was about how online hate can twist minds and spill into real-world violence. This is not accidental: social media companies keep enabling hate and lies because they make money from anger and division. CCDH was created with a mission to protect human rights and civil liberties in the digital age. Six years in, I couldn’t be prouder of the work we’ve done exposing the harms enabled by these companies and advocating for platform accountability. But no one moves the needle alone. Friend, today is Giving Tuesday. Your support is the cornerstone of our work and, together, we’re on the right path to make the internet safer for everyone. Please donate to CCDH.
