Today is #GivingTuesday, and we hope this opportunity can be used to support the work that fuels self-advocates directly. Throughout 2025, we have faced an intense increase of threats to our community. From fighting misinformation about acetaminophen and vaccines [[link removed]] to addressing threats against the safety of autistic individuals’ data [[link removed]], ASAN staff have been hard at work getting out information about what we are facing and how we can protect our community.

We’re reaching out to our community to ask for support so we can support you back. Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving where nonprofits of all sizes ask folks to donate and support their causes as a part of the holiday season. Donations from our grassroots provide direct support for our programs that grants don’t cover. This includes our ability to make rapid responses like this [[link removed]]!

In the nicest way, this year has felt like a dumpster fire floating down a flooded street. In times like these, we want to take a breath, support each other, and just keep going. This isn’t the easiest time, but we know the worth of our community and the importance of supporting it. Every day, ASAN’s team works together to make sure policies that impact autistic people’s lives include autistic people and put resources into the hands of self-advocates. This crucial work would not be possible without the support of our community.
