Meet **Lenny**. Bronx-born. A hard-working accountant. Lenny never thought
he’d lose his job, then his apartment, and end up sleeping on the subway for
three long years. **Thanks to kindness like yours** , Lenny is settled into
supportive housing with VOA. The best part? It's only a few blocks from his
93-year-old mom. Now he cooks her breakfast, socializes with neighbors and

Hunger and homelessness have surged in the U.S. to the highest levels in over
a decade. **We see the human side of these rising numbers.** In parents coming
in with their kids because groceries didn’t make it through the week. In
veterans sleeping in their cars. In older adults giving up their own meals to
make the rent.
VOA is there walking beside people through recovery and rebuilding. **Your
