Sunday was a special day for us Catholics, as it marked the start of Advent and the wait for Christmas. Today is also a special day - Giving Tuesday.


Some say that Giving Tuesday is the antidote to the consumerist chaos of Black Friday - the simple idea of selflessly doing something good.

You could help a mother like Mariam, a 72-year-old Palestinian refugee living in eastern Lebanon. The cold weather is severe and there is very little work, which means very little fuel to heat her home and keep warm.
