Here’s an update from our campaign:

Spring Elections Underway

Today, candidates for spring elections can begin circulating nomination papers.

Candidates for spring elections, including both municipal officials and statewide offices, must collect signatures to appear on the ballot next year. This coming spring includes an important race for the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Collecting nomination signatures is an critical step in running for office. Candidates rely on friends, family, and volunteers to collect these signatures. It’s important that Wisconsin conservatives get out and help candidates in our community.

Ending Fraud in Government Programs

Last week, news broke ([link removed]) that groups in Minnesota had engaged in rampant fraud - totaling more than $250 million ([link removed]) from just one scheme.

This fraud follows years of record fraud ([link removed]) nationwide enabled by reckless and unaccountable spending under the Biden administration. The U.S. DOJ reported that it charged over 3,000 individuals ([link removed]) with COVID-19 era fraud in 2023, a total of more than $1.4 billion. ([link removed]) In Wisconsin, millions of dollars ([link removed]) was defrauded from COVID grants, unemployment insurance, and other programs.

Every dollar that is defrauded from government programs is a dollar that does not serve those the programs were designed for - a dollar that is stolen from hardworking families who follow the rules, pay their taxes, and obey the law.

This is why the Working Families Tax Cuts ([link removed]) passed by Republicans earlier this summer are so important.

That law made permanent tax cuts, delivered new deductions for seniors and working families, and made life more affordable by unleashing American energy.

Importantly, it also eliminated waste, fraud, and abuse in government programs by:
* Requiring able-bodied, childless adults ([link removed]) on SNAP or Medicaid to work, go to school, or volunteer for 80 hours a month to receive benefits.
* Holding states accountable for errors ([link removed]) in SNAP payments, food aid, ensuring taxpayer dollars are only going towards eligible individuals.
* Strengthening Medicaid eligibility requirements ([link removed]) , protecting the program for who it was designed to serve - pregnant women, children, and disabled Americans.

While these are important steps, there is still more work to do to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in government programs.

Praying for our Heroes

Last week, two members of the National Guard were shot in D.C. while on patrol defending our nation’s capital.

20 year-old, Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom died from her injuries, and 24 year old U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Please join me in praying for them and their families.

This is a somber reminder of the risks that our men and women in uniform face while defending our safety and freedom.

The accused killer is currently in custody and is charged ([link removed]) with first-degree murder.
