Today, I’m officially launching my campaign for re-election — and I want to tell you why this work still matters so deeply to me.

Long before I ever imagined serving in Congress, I was a mom working the night shift and spending my mornings in my boys’ classrooms. That’s where I first saw how unevenly our communities were being supported — and how often Black and brown children were being left behind.
What started in a classroom turned into service on the School Board. When our schools needed stronger investment, I fought from the County Commission. When families needed better resources, stronger representation, and leaders who actually listened, I continued that fight in the State House and now in Congress.
At every step, my motivation has stayed the same: to build a better life for our community.
I ran for Congress in 2022 because I believed — and still believe — in building a better, fairer future for the community I love. We’ve made real progress together, but there is still so much more to do.
