What a wild, hard year this has been for the country. At GIFFORDS, we are fortunate to be led by someone who personifies courage and strength: Gabby Giffords. And as her husband Mark said recently, "Courage is contagious."

I hope you keep that in mind as I tell you that a future free from gun violence is within our reach, even now.

On Giving Tuesday, can you donate to GIFFORDS Law Center to help us create a safer future for our families?

This year, we’ve made more progress in the fight to save lives than I ever could have expected:

• Thirty-three states enacted 89 new significant gun safety laws this year, bringing the total laws passed since the tragedy at Sandy Hook to 820.
• We won a major Supreme Court case, upholding the Biden administration’s requirement that ghost guns must be treated as the guns they are under the law.
• GIFFORDS Law Center attorneys and experts successfully fought for the support of major law enforcement leaders and police organizations across the country in the fight to block a national concealed carry mandate. 
• When this administration was trying to remove century-old safeguards on gun silencers and sawed-off shotguns in the so-called Big Beautiful Bill, we shared expertise and information with senators that ultimately led the Senate parliamentarian to reject their dangerous proposal.

I say these things to make clear that even in what feels like the worst of conditions, we are always moving forward.

With that in mind, I hope you’ll think of our organization’s work when I ask you to please make a donation to GIFFORDS Law Center this Giving Tuesday to help us reach our goal of $75,000. Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving timed around the holiday, and we need your support now more than ever.
