Below is what I told the press about today’s filing:
The Trump administration’s actions do nothing to address the leading cause of homelessness: the fact that more and more people can’t afford rent. Instead, the federal government’s ideological changes will force as many as 170,000 people who are now stably housed back into homelessness.
Most of the people in these homes are elderly or have disabilities. Some are youth with no family support, and families with young children. With this housing, people were able to get their lives back on track from the safety and stability of their own home. These drastic policy shifts direct funding to cities that impose anti-trans, anti-homeless, and anti-immigrant policies and will force hundreds of thousands of people back into homelessness. is honored to represent the National Alliance to End Homelessness and the National Low Income Housing Coalition in this case. We will continue to fight for housing justice and ensure that everybody has the housing they need to thrive.
