<[link removed]>Dear Friend,

December is a month of reflection, of looking back at what we have achieved over the past year and the lessons learned. Throughout 2025, nuclear weapons made headlines in global news. Nuclear posturing, testing of delivery systems and record-high spending on nuclear weapons depict a bleak picture and could leave us feeling hopeless.

Happily, this wasn’t the only nuclear-related news of the past year. Across the planet thousands of communities came together to commemorate the first uses of nuclear weapons - the more than 80 years of nuclear harm -  and demand an end to these weapons for good. Cities representing more than 30% of their national populations in Australia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, and Spain called on their governments to join the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW), taking the lead in demanding that nuclear weapons be eliminated. This in turn, strengthens and empowers the thousands of parliamentarians who have pledged to take action and demand that their governments put an end to nuclear weapons forever.

<[link removed]>Your support has helped us share the story of Terumi Tanaka <[link removed]> with NY Times readers, it has enabled us to illustrate the road to a world without nuclear weapons <[link removed]>, and build a global community of resistance. Every donation, no matter how big or how small, helps us move closer to the world we want.

<[link removed]>Can you help us? <[link removed]>The countries behind the TPNW are now the global majority and we are working together to implement our plan to achieve the total elimination of nuclear weapons. And this has a very concrete impact:  the pro-nuclear countries are now in the hot seat of the global community. They feel the pressure from their trading partners, their diplomatic allies, their cities, elected officials and their citizens. We have the power and a clear plan for next year. Will you help us? <[link removed]>

Thank you for your support,
Melissa Parke
