Columbia County Chapter to relaunch Friday
We are pleased to announce that OWR is launching a chapter in Columbia County! We're looking to hit the ground running on issues ranging from police brutality, Medicare for All, fair voting maps and local policy issues. We need your voice!
Our virtual chapter launch is Friday, July 17, at 7 p.m., and you can attend from the comfort of your home. Register here
Speakers will include OWR Director Mike McCabe, 6th Congressional District Candidate Michael Beardsley (right), and Carlene Bechen, an organizer for Fair Maps with Wisconsin Voices.
This is your chance to meet OWR leadership, ask questions of an OWR-endorsed candidate, and learn how you can get involved with everyday activism. If you are a voting member of OWR/OR in Columbia County, you can take part in a virtual election to establish leadership for our local chapter.
We can't bring change to Columbia County without our fellow progressives. Please join us and lend us your voice and your activism.
OWR Forum on Health Care Policy features 18 candidates
As coronavirus cases spike across Wisconsin, with millions of people losing health care as they are laid off from their jobs, Our Wisconsin Revolution is holding a political forum to explore the health care policies of candidates running for office across the state.
The forum, hosted by Dr. Richard McGowan, member of OWR’s steering committee for Dane County, and Andre Walton, OWR southeast regional organizer, takes place Saturday, July 18, at 7 p.m. and will feature 18 candidates running for U.S. Congress, state senate, and state assembly in Wisconsin. Register here
The candidates will discuss how single-payer health care, also known as Medicare for All, would cover the health care needs of Wisconsin residents, especially during a pandemic. They will also provide an analysis of the state and federal response to the coronavirus crisis and discuss disparities in care among low income and communities of color in our state.
Candidates attending include:
Dr. Mark Neumann, Candidate for U.S. Congress, Wisconsin District 3
Michael Beardsley, Candidate for U.S. Congress, Wisconsin District 6
