This Giving Tuesday we’re focusing on something simple yet powerful: placing Bibles and hymnals in the hands of Mozambicans. In many churches across Mozambique, United Methodists gather to worship without access to hymnals or Bibles for the congregation. Leaders in Mozambique named supplying these materials as a top priority for continued faith development and evangelism.
These bibles and hymnals will be sourced in Mozambique. Bibles cost about $10 each. Hymnals roughly cost $13 each. Our goal is to have 200 people purchase one bible and one hymnal. A gift of $23 is all it takes to provide both.
For less than many of us spend on lunch, you can give a sibling in Mozambique lasting tools to worship, to learn and to share the love of Christ.
These worship resources will be kept at local United Methodist churches in Mozambique for regular use. Bibles and hymnals will be distributed to congregations with the greatest need. An emphasis will be placed on churches in rural contexts and churches with financial need.
As we enter into our 40th year of partnership with our siblings in Mozambique, this effort is at the heart of our shared ministry: Encouraging United Methodists across the world in our shared faith. Every gift is a tangible reminder of this commitment and connection. Donate this Giving Tuesday and make a lasting impact!
Once donations are collected in Missouri, 100% of funds will be sent to Mozambique. Your gift of any size, combined with those from Mozambique Initiative supporters across the state, will make a real difference in the lives United Methodists in Mozambique.
