Dear John,
The Delores Barr Weaver Legacy Fund has pledged $100,000 in matching funds through Giving Tuesday, doubling ([link removed]) the impact of every gift for Our Children's Trust and the youth we represent—youth like Delaney.
For Delaney, a plaintiff in Lighthiser v. Trump and Reynolds v. Florida Public Service Commission, the climate crisis isn't abstract. She's watched neighbors' homes decimated by extreme hurricanes. She's seen the coral reefs she grew up snorkeling bleach and die.
In September, Delaney sat in federal court as five fellow plaintiffs testified about heat stroke, hurricane evacuations, and smoke-related pneumonia. The Judge affirmed that the executive orders contribute to a "children's health emergency." We're now appealing to the Ninth Circuit in what could become the most significant constitutional climate case in U.S. history.
THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE
—PRACTICED, NOT INHERITED.
It's Delaney protecting coastal Florida from rising seas. It's Jeff testifying in Montana about his brother's health. It's Leandrea in the Yukon defending Indigenous lands and cultural survival. Each voice is a heartbeat, keeping democracy alive.
"We are using democracy," Delaney says. "Using our voice in the court, letting the judge know that we as youth have rights."
Democracy survives when young voices refuse to accept a broken system—and when we stand with them.
Your gift—DOUBLED through Giving Tuesday—powers the legal expertise, trauma-informed support, and strategic communications that amplify these voices around the world.
DONATE NOW - YOUR GIFT WILL BE MATCHED ([link removed])
Stand with youth keeping democracy's heart beating strong.
With fierce determination and hope,
The team at Our Children’s Trust
