Dear John,

Despite the immense obstacles they face, around the world, feminist movements are defending our rights, protecting our planet, building community power, and demonstrating that an equitable future is attainable when we all come together. They do this despite the increasing threats and reprisals they face, because they are rooted in a deep hope that a more inclusive and joyful world is possible.

This year we resourced a group in Lebanon that uses design and architecture to create spaces of joy and community, particularly for young people. Through their “My Happiness In My Park” initiative, Catalytic Action is transforming public spaces and inspiring their communities to take ownership of their environment and well-being. In the process, they are cultivating women’s leadership and civic participation. See the impact of their initiative for yourself in this inspiring video.
