Candace Valenzuela and Mike Siegel won their primaries to become Democratic nominees for Congress in TX-24 and TX-10. They are progressive fighters who are going to flip these two Republican-held districts blue in November and lead a blue wave across the country.

Candace Valenzuela would be the first Black Latina ever elected to the U.S. Congress. She’s lived the impacts of systemic poverty and structural racism, and she’ll elevate the experiences of so many families in Texas and across the country who far too often go unheard in Congress.

Mike Siegel is a former public school teacher and employment lawyer who nearly defeated Republican Congressman Mike McCaul in 2018. As a city attorney in Austin, Mike has fought on behalf of immigrant families, firefighters, low-income renters, and constituents in support of common sense gun regulations. He’ll continue to lead those fights in Congress.

We need both of these progressive fighters in Congress, but Republicans are going to pull out every trick in the book to keep Texas from turning even more blue.
