Hello John,
Today corporations expect us to empty our pockets so they can break records profits – we’re not buying it. Not from Amazon. Not from Target. Not from Home Depot; not until our communities are safe and our workers are respected.
Last week community members joined parades of shoppers at a Home Depot in Monrovia to prove that our dollars have meaning and where we shop matters. This simple act of resistance dropped Home Depot's stock and sent a clear message: no matter how much they spend to distract us with ads, we won’t sell out our communities.
The numbers don’t lie:
When we boycott, we send a message on behalf of our communities: we won’t be exploited; we won’t be terrorized; we won’t be abused. We’re cutting off the corporations that fuel the attacks on our communities.
Stand on business. Don’t cross the picket line online or in the streets. Move your money from Target, Home Depot, and Amazon and buy out who backs us.
Buy California For California. From now until the end of the year, our holiday spirit centers solidarity, care, and community wealth because where we spend reflects who we stand with. Spend your hard-earned dollars on a new kind of holiday tradition: support small, community-rooted businesses that reinvest in our neighborhoods and keep our culture alive.
Here’s how you can spend where you get respect:
Shop these community-loved mom and pops, especially those owned by immigrants, Black, Brown, Indigenous, and working-class people; they’re the real backbone of our state.
Lift up a business you love. Add a local shop to our statewide list so more Californians know where to spend with pride.
In Solidarity,
We Are California
