Pat Ryan for Congress [[link removed]]
Hi friend,
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! This week, I wanted to talk about the continued push for affordable housing in the Hudson Valley, fighting health care consolidation, standing up to Trump's dangerous rhetoric, and more. Thank you for being in this alongside me.

What’s going on
Hudson Valley

I fought to secure early funding, bring state and federal partners to the table, and keep this effort moving through years of planning and coordination. A huge thanks and kudos to all of our community leaders who worked together to make this happen. We have a responsibility to make the Hudson Valley affordable again, and projects like this one are part of that process.
Golden Hill shows what affordable housing can look like when we put people first. Community-driven design, thousands of native plantings, a fitness center, childcare, health services, free broadband, EV charging, green space, and more. Now that families will soon be moving in, my focus is on using this momentum to push for more housing across the Hudson Valley that matches people’s incomes and restores their dignity.
What you can do: Stay engaged locally. When new housing proposals come up, show your support, share accurate information, and help counter the opposition that often stalls these projects. If you know someone struggling with housing or living in a motel or shelter, connect them with my team so we can help. Community backing made Golden Hill possible.

What I’m doing: Grocery prices across New York continue to squeeze working families and small businesses, and I’m pushing hard for real solutions. In response, I launched a new affordability survey to hear directly from you about how rising food costs are impacting your family. Your experiences will help me fight for the Lower Grocery Prices Act, which requires the federal government to finally analyze two decades of grocery price trends and develop a national plan to bring costs down.
This fight is urgent. Trump just signed the largest SNAP cut in history, slashing $187 billion from a program that feeds 42 million Americans. The Hudson Valley’s own food banks are already reporting they’ll be forced to serve two million fewer meals this year because of cuts to TEFAP. On top of that, sweeping tariffs are driving up food prices and hammering our local farms and small businesses. Families shouldn’t have to choose between paying bills or preparing a holiday meal. I’m fighting in Congress to reverse these cuts, lower prices, and protect the programs that keep people fed.
What you can do : Take the survey. It takes just a minute, and your voice will directly shape the legislation I’m pushing in Washington. Share it with friends, neighbors, and anyone feeling the pressure at the checkout line. The more responses we gather, the stronger our case will be for real federal action.

What I’m doing: As a West Point graduate and combat veteran, I find Trump’s latest comments, suggesting that Democratic veterans in Congress should be put to death, completely unacceptable. Our troops swear an oath to the Constitution, not to any one man. I spent 27 months in combat defending that principle, and I will never let it be twisted for political gain. Calling for violence against elected officials is dangerous, un-American, and beneath the office of the presidency. I’m working with other veteran lawmakers to make it clear that service members must follow lawful orders, and that no president can threaten those who uphold their oath.
What you can do: Push back on this rhetoric wherever you can. Talk to friends, neighbors, and especially veterans about why this crosses a line. The more we speak out, the harder it becomes for anyone to normalize political violence.
Going on offense
[link removed] [[link removed]]
The best way to go on offense is to stay connected to our local communities and stay close to our roots. I was honored to join with the Regional Food Bank ahead of Thanksgiving to provide meals to 700 families in need. Truly helping and delivering for our neighbors is how we build a movement that can last for the long haul and win.
Keep the faith, keep up the fight, and thank you for reading!
In Solidarity,
Pat
