Well before Donald Trump took office again 10 months ago, we knew exactly what was coming.
We knew we would face a flurry of executive overreach, an onslaught of unconstitutional actions, and relentless attacks on the freedoms we’re sworn to protect.
And we were right.
This year my office has fought back at every turn — taking Trump to court again and again when his administration violated the law, trampled on our rights, and tried to dismantle the guardrails of our democracy.
We’ve had a lot of wins: restoring more than $168 billion of federal funding to California, stopping the dismantling of federal agencies like AmeriCorps and HHS, and defending constitutional rights like birthright citizenship and the right to vote.
I’m proud of the work we’ve done, but the sheer speed and volume of lawlessness from Trump and his administration have made it perfectly clear that much more work lies ahead.
