Recently we have seen strong progress across our campaigns. In Greece, crews cleared illegal octopus traps from protected waters. In the Upper Gulf of California, we worked with Mexican partners to free entangled sea lions caught in the same deadly gear threatening the vaquita. And inside the Vaquita Refuge, coordinated patrols with the Navy kept pressure low enough for the species to hold steady again this year, with scientists confirming consistent sightings and signs of reproduction. Together, these developments show that our presence on the water is making a measurable difference.
As we move into the holiday season and gather with our families, it is worth remembering that many marine animals live with the same deep bonds. Whales and dolphins are sentient, social, and conscious of what happens around them. They raise young, travel in family groups, and stay connected for life.
