Free Speech With blatant disregard for the First Amendment, the Trump administration is seeking to punish anyone – from student protesters like Mahmoud Khalil to late-night hosts like Jimmy Kimmel – who dares to express views the administration doesn't approve of. The ACLU is fighting back, organizing, and litigating to protect the right to protest, to free students unfairly detained for their on-campus speech, and to defend freedom of the press.

Immigrants' Rights President Trump promised early on to carry out the largest mass deportation in U.S. history, and from day one of his second administration, he has attempted to do just that. The administration has tried to get rid of birthright citizenship, worked to dismantle asylum, denied due process, and ripped families and communities apart. We are suing to prevent these cruel and unconstitutional policies at every turn, but we need your help to keep it up.

LGBTQ Equality The Trump administration is systematically working to deny transgender people the freedom to be ourselves – banning gender affirming health care, trying to mandate discrimination against LGBTQ students at colleges and universities, trying to prevent trans and intersex people from accessing accurate identity documents like passports, and rolling back critical protections from discrimination. Let's be clear: Trans people have always existed and will continue to do so. And with your support, the ACLU will always be there to defend everyone's right to live openly and freely.
