Virginia DMV Launches Secure Mobile ID Solution

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles now offers the Virginia Mobile ID, a new way to keep your driver’s license or ID card on your smartphone instead of in your wallet. The Mobile ID app is free to download and provides a secure, digital version of your state-issued identification.
This digital ID can be used in place of your physical card at DMV offices, with law enforcement, for voting, and at select ABC stores across Virginia. It’s designed to offer the same reliability as your physical ID, while giving you added convenience and security through your mobile device.
Here are a few highlights of the Mobile ID:
* Safe, convenient, voluntary, and free.
* Accepted at TSA security checkpoints in over 250 U.S. airports, including six in Virginia.
* Easy setup: Download the Virginia Mobile ID app from your app store and enroll using your valid Virginia driver’s license or ID.

The 495 Express Lanes Extension Opening Is Here
The 495 Express Lanes Extension opened on Sunday, November 23, 2025. This two-and-a-half-mile expansion brings the 495 Express Lanes north to the George Washington Memorial Parkway near the American Legion Memorial Bridge. The project is a partnership between the Commonwealth of Virginia and Transurban.
The Extension works like the existing 495 Express Lanes. Drivers pay tolls electronically, and prices are displayed on signs before entry points. There are new connections to the George Washington Memorial Parkway and the Dulles Toll Road.
REMINDERS:
* Be aware of new traffic patterns and drive carefully as changes take effect.
* Only stop on the highway for emergencies, and pull over to the left shoulder if needed.

Pastor Michelle Thomas Ordination and Consecration
I am grateful to have witnessed the consecration of Pastor Michelle Thomas as Bishop! Her faith and dedication shine brightly as she begins this new chapter of spiritual leadership. Bishop-Elect Thomas was consecrated as Bishop in the Lord’s Church and installed as the Presiding Bishop of the Kingdom Covenant Global Fellowship, under the covering of Bishop H. Eugene Bellinger and the Cathedral of Covenant Fellowship Ministries.
This sacred weekend marked a truly historic milestone, as Bishop Michelle C. Thomas became the first African American woman to be consecrated Bishop with her church and residence here in Loudoun. Through her ministry, advocacy, and commitment to community empowerment, Bishop Thomas has transformed countless lives. We stand with her in joyful celebration of this remarkable achievement. Congratulations, Bishop Thomas!

I can also submit inquiries with those agencies on your behalf. There are limits to what I can do, however. For example, I am unable to expedite cases or force state agencies to favor your inquiry, provide legal advice or recommend a specific attorney, intervene with judicial issues, overturn decisions, or be involved with matters between private businesses.
