Earlier this month during the unprecedented federal government shutdown, we took several actions to provide emergency food assistance to Hawaii families that were at risk of going hungry — making sure that vital assistance to Hawaii’s SNAP recipients was delivered as quickly as possible, and helping families in need by directing $2 million in state funding towards Hawaii’s food banks.
This holiday season, we are coming together as one Ohana to make sure that families with children don’t go hungry or lose their housing during the holidays.
