John, it’s Josh Turek, the Democrat running for U.S. Senate in battleground Iowa.
When I launched my 2022 campaign for State House in a district Trump won handily twice, almost no one thought I could win.
It took sweat and determination and a lot of face-to-face conversations, but I ended up winning that race by – get this – SIX votes.
Seriously. A group of voters that could fit comfortably around my kitchen table put me in office. Great story…skin-of-my-teeth margin. 😬
I knew I’d have to do better in 2024, so the minute I was sworn in at the State Capitol in Des Moines I got to work. Fast forward two years, and I transformed those six votes into an almost 6% margin of victory.
It’s not rocket science. This campaign for Iowa will be competitive, no doubt: Top political experts think control of the Senate could come down to our Senate race.
Still, this isn’t my first tough campaign, John. We’re going to win in 2026 the same way I have before: by hitting the streets, building a solid base of support, and delivering a strong bipartisan message to the people of Iowa.
