163 donors needed today to protect birds in crisis. Will you be one? ([link removed])
The Least Tern is often seen flying low over the water, with quick deep wingbeats and shrill cries. But this tiny seabird is a species in crisis after losing more than 50% of their populations within the past 50 years. In many places, populations are threatened due to human disturbances at nesting sites, particularly increased competition for beach space. And according to the 2025 State of Birds report, they’re now categorized as an Orange Alert Tipping Point species—meaning they've experienced long-term population losses and accelerated declines within the past decade.
To power our work for birds with reliable support, we’ve set an ambitious goal of 1,000 new monthly donors by Giving Tuesday. Birds can’t ask for your help. So we’re asking for them: Will you start your monthly gift ahead of Giving Tuesday while, thanks to a group of generous donors, your first gift could be matched? Please be one of the 163 caring friends we’re counting on to join us before midnight to help keep pace with our goal and bring birds back. ([link removed])

Birds are in a code-red crisis. And yet, we are not without hope. Using our proven combination of committed advocacy, empowering education, and expert on-the-ground conservation—all guided by science and grounded in our shared love for birds—we’ve been able to give species a better chance at survival. With your support, we’re identifying which birds are threatened, which habitats are most in need of protection, and which birds will most benefit from our efforts. We’re also defending the laws that protect birds and promoting strong new legislation aimed at keeping important habitats resilient.
But with so much at stake, we can—and must—do more while there’s still time. Ahead of Giving Tuesday, please start a monthly donation while your first gift could go 2X as far for the birds you love. ([link removed])
Sincerely,
