Jake here. I’m responsible for ensuring Contest Every Race’s fundraising emails hit our budget goals. So, while most people are spending today crafting elite-level Thanksgiving leftovers, I’m looking at our numbers and trying not to spill my gravy.

Here’s the real situation: we’re still around $4k short of this month’s fundraising goal. If we don’t close that gap, the tone of my Monday morning meeting with the development team shifts from “How many new teams can we add?” to “Which teams will we have to put on hold?”

So, I’m asking directly: Will you chip in $25 before Monday’s meeting?

If we fall short, we have to start saying “maybe next year” to local Democratic teams who are already recruiting candidates, building volunteer networks, and getting Democrats on the ballot in places where Republicans normally win unopposed.

I don’t want that to happen.

Our teams don’t want that to happen.

And if you’re worried about the 2026 midterms, you don’t want that to happen either.
