Yuriy is a miracle worker. A third generation tailor, he came to New York from the Soviet Union as a young man. Speaking no English, he made Landmark Cleaners a neighborhood institution on the Upper West Side. He takes his craft and legacy seriously—in fact, all five of his siblings are tailors, too!

I’ve known Yuriy for about 25 years and trust him not only to give me a perfect hem, but as a beloved community member. He’s always honest and his expertise ensures his customers are satisfied with his service.
On this Small Business Saturday, I want to lend my support to Yuriy and all of the incredible small businesses in my district because local businesses are the heartbeat of our community.
One of the reasons I’m running for office is because Washington needs to work for Yuriy and small business owners like him. I hear the stories of people in our communities who are being squeezed, and Congress should, too. It’s hard to run a business with the cost of rent, supplies, and taxes, all increasing. Like many others, Covid-19 nearly forced Yuriy to shutter his doors.
