I hope you’ve had a great Thanksgiving weekend! Today, I’m celebrating another important holiday: Small Business Saturday.

Small businesses are the backbone of our communities here in Maryland. They create jobs, energize neighborhoods, and foster the kind of civic and social innovation our state needs to thrive.

As Maryland Comptroller, I remain committed to supporting small businesses and ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed. I will always support women-, minority-, and veteran-owned and operated companies and work to create solutions that make our government more efficient and transparent.

This holiday season, I encourage you to shop small and support your local businesses — coffee shops, boutiques, and everything in between!
