We need to close November strong.

Hi friend,

I hope you had a restful holiday. As we move toward the end of November,  I want to give you a quick update on where things stand.

Over the past few weeks, the CBC has challenged:

  • The Administration’s attempt to dismantle the Department of Education, which would gut civil rights enforcement for Black and minority students, HBCUs, Pell recipients, children with disabilities, and English learners.
  • Two bills that would overturn local policing reforms, bring back discriminatory cash bail practices, and deny 700,000 residents the right to govern themselves.
  • A pathetic partisan attempt to censure Del. Stacey Plaskett, designed to distract from months of blocking the release of the Epstein files.

These are not isolated events; they are part of a coordinated push to undermine civil rights, weaken accountability, and expand presidential power beyond constitutional limits.

As Chair of the CBC, I am doing everything in my power to meet these challenges with the urgency they require. But this is also one of the hardest fundraising weeks of the year, when grassroots support traditionally drops.

If you are able, will you help us close November strong so we can stay ready for the fights ahead?
