Hello friend,
As we approached Thanksgiving this year, we reflected upon what we were grateful for during such a hard, desolate year. It has been a challenging year to work on reproductive health and rights, and for anyone who works in or cares about international development or human rights. Most days and weeks have felt like an oppressive slog through yet another destructive policy, round of federal layoffs, and general threat to our democracy.
We have been kept afloat by all of you, who read this newsletter and support the work of Population Connection Action Fund. Your dedication to joining us as we fight the Trump administration, and its countless attacks on reproductive freedom, has given us the hope and the fortitude to stick with this battle and to hope for better days.
The year isn’t over, and we still anticipate a dangerous expansion of Trump’s Global Gag Rule, the possible destruction of $10 million dollars' worth—or more—of lifesaving contraception, and other senseless attacks on abortion and contraception before the end of 2025.
We have really enjoyed writing this newsletter and hope you will continue reading it and joining us as we continue to resist the Trump administration and push for the restoration of US global health funding and a permanent end to the Global Gag Rule, in 2026 and beyond.
