The first Texas candidate filing deadline is December 8, and North Carolina’s follows on December 19. These early deadlines set the pace for 2026, and the local teams in our Contest Every Race grants program are working now to make sure Democrats are actually on the ballot.

But, at the moment, we’re $4,579.50 short of our monthly fundraising target, which is what keeps our county partners organizing and recruiting during these critical filing windows.

Missing this goal means fewer recruited candidates, less support for local parties doing the groundwork, and ultimately fewer Democrats running in critical states in 2026.
