Dear friend,
What a busy month it has been at the Centre. We published our Empowering Minds report - our evaluation of the Pilgrim Trust’s Young Women in Mind programme - along with a blog that highlights the unique issues that young women face and the need for tailored, trauma-informed, age and gender specific support to improve their mental health.
We carried out a webinar exploring Barnardo’s BIRD service which has the potential to reduce pressure on emergency departments and CAMHS crisis teams. You can watch it back on YouTube.
Our CEO Andy Bell reflects on the NHS medium term planning framework and the need for evidence based approaches in his latest blog. Crown Agabi wrote about the background and future plans of the Not So Micro anti-racism initiative, and Professor Patrick Vernon OBE’s blog explored the trauma, grief, and loss experienced by the Windrush generation and their families.
Finally, we celebrated the Children and Young People's Mental Health Coalition 15th birthday with partners, stakeholders, and young people and what a blast it was! Alongside a collaborative network of over 300 organisations, the Coalition aims to continue the mission of working to improve all children and young people’s mental health.
