I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving.

I’m reaching out today to talk about the future of our state’s Democratic Party and the fight that’s ahead of us.

Republicans want you to believe that this is a red state. Maybe they want us to give up entirely — that’s one of the reasons they chose to egregiously gerrymander our congressional maps (again).

But here’s what they don’t want you to know: North Carolina is one of the last true purple states in the nation. Democrats can win here, both statewide and in critical legislative races. We proved that in our critical gubernatorial race last year, carrying other downballot Democrat victories with us.

Politico is already calling NC the “political epicenter in 2026.” With the top Senate contest of the midterms, ultra-competitive legislative races, and a critical state Supreme Court seat all on the ballot, we can bet that Republicans will focus all their attention on us.

John, we need to be ready to fight back.
