John,
We know that Black Friday is an orgy of conspicuous consumption and consumerism.
It’s also a day when big online retailers like Amazon and Walmart try new tactics on the biggest sales days of the year. Below the headline prices like 4K TVs and iPads, there are a slew of other teaser deals with suspicious numbers. 53% off this watch! 38% off these sweatpants!
Where do they get these numbers? It’s called Surveillance Pricing and it’s being done by major corporations mining your personal data and offering you a different price than your spouse, or your neighbor.
None of these companies would be investing heavily in this personalized pricing tech in order to save you money. They’re looking to squeeze you for every last penny they think you’re willing to pay.
At a time when seniors are paying higher prices for everything, the last thing we need is LESS price transparency. That future is here, now. And we’re demanding Congress act to rein it in.
Send a message to your members of Congress: Stop Surveillance Pricing before it’s too late!
Thank you,
