John,

As we welcome this holiday season, we want to take a moment to personally thank you for your dedication and commitment as a valued member of our Color Of Change community.

Despite the clear and urgent challenges we face as a collective movement, we’ve had so much positive momentum over the past year, and it wouldn’t have been possible without your support.

Over the past year, we’ve organized almost 60 in-person and virtual events to ground us in community and channel the power of everyday folks across the country to demand change. Last month, we held town halls in Georgia, Michigan, and North Carolina, in addition to squad calls mobilizing our members to fight back against the neo-segregationist agenda and Trump’s attacks on the Smithsonian museums, including a petition delivery of over 4,000 signatures from members like you to Congress.

We’ve fought to protect Black political power nationwide as Republicans seek to rig our democracy ahead of the midterm elections. In CA, we recruited volunteers to knock on doors and contacted more than 1,000,000 predominantly Black voters to urge our community to vote YES on Prop 50 and won, delivering a critical blow against the Trump regime — and we’re continuing to lead work to protect our political representation through redistricting nationwide, organizing Black grassroots organizations and allies and convening state groups and leaders to fight back.

And this Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday, we’re joining our partners, members, and communities to take a stand and send a clear message to corporate America and to this administration that We Ain’t Buying It. We’re asking Black families, congregations, neighborhoods, HBCU students, aunties, uncles, elders, Gen Z, faith leaders, and movement builders, all of us, to boycott Target, Amazon, and Home Depot during this week—redirecting our spending to support small businesses, mutual aid efforts, and groups that power our movement. Because this season, we’re focused on building power, not profits for corporations that undermine our democracy and exploit our communities.

So as we gather with loved ones and neighbors, let us celebrate the power of Black joy as our North Star and the lifeblood of our movement. Remember John, Black joy is not the absence of pain, but the presence of aspiration. When we refocus on what we are fighting for, rather than what we are fighting against—we find renewed purpose and continual reminders that we are not alone.

Thank you again for all that you do. We’re grateful to have you by our side.

Until Justice Is Real,

Color Of Change
