As we gather with family, friends, and loved ones this Thanksgiving, I’ve been reflecting on what this season is really about: service and community.
For me, service is rooted in a simple belief that we owe something to one another. That belief guided me as a soldier, as a public servant, and now as Maryland’s Attorney General. And every day, I’m reminded how many of us live that same spirit of service in our own lives.
This year has tested us in real ways — from the rising cost of groceries and health care to deepening political polarization that threatens the rights and well-being of our communities. Yet in every challenge, I’ve seen people step up for one another. That’s what gives me hope. That’s what keeps me grounded in the conviction that our work matters.
As you sit down at your table, I hope you feel the same gratitude I do for the resilience of our communities.
From my family to yours, I wish you a safe and peaceful Thanksgiving.
Thank you,
