We are looking for people willing to study the issues and make decisions in the best interest of the public. While Medi-spas and aesthetic treatments can offer cosmetic benefits, it's important to be aware of the risks involved. Procedures like Botox, fillers, laser treatments and IV hydration therapy should always be performed by licensed medical professionals in a safe environment. Infections, scarring, and serious complications can occur when procedures are done improperly or without appropriate medical oversight. Always

*Opioid Prescribing General Provisions for Allopathic Physicians (MD) & Physician Assistants (PA)*
The WMC is amending the opioid prescribing rules to modernize the language, add clarity, and bring the rules more in line with current practice: MD WACs 246-919-850 [ [link removed] ] through 246-919-985 [ [link removed] ] and PA WACs 246-918-800 [ [link removed] ] through 246-918-935 [ [link removed] ]. The Preproposal Statement of Inquiry, or CR-101, was filed on April 30, 2025, as WSR #25-10-039. More information about this rulemaking and future workshops can be found here [ [link removed] ].

Q: How do I find out how my complaint is progressing?
A: Details of an ongoing investigation will not be given, but you can call to receive an update on the general status of your complaint. The Medical Commission has guidelines as to how long a complaint can take in each step of the disciplinary process. However, please remember that due to the complex legal and medical issues involved, the disciplinary process can be lengthy. Your patience is appreciated.

ABOUT THE COMMISSION
Your WA Medical Commission (WMC) currently regulates about 34,000 licenses, more than 3,000 of which are Physician Assistants.
The WMC is composed of 21 governor-appointed members, including:
* 13 physicians, one from each congressional district and three at-large positions
* Six public members
* Two physician assistants.
The WMC also employs staff based in Tumwater and Spokane, WA. The professional staff includes attorneys and physicians.
