Today marks just over 2 weeks since we launched this year’s Festive Events Campaign. We have had great success so far with events choosing to opt for reindeer-free celebrations this year, including Lapland UK!

Sadly, although we have had wins, there are still events using reindeer as part of their festive celebrations. This week, we have added 20 new events to our Interactive Map, and we need you to help us oppose these events.

Middlesbrough Reindeer Parade

The council decided to ignore us, despite the voices of over 1,000 supporters who took action, and go ahead with the reindeer parade. The photos that were sent to us after the event showed the reindeer very distressed, and furthermore shines a light on their suffering.

We will now, with your support, keep communicating with the council to ask that they leave reindeer out of future festive celebrations, and instead opt for compassionate, animal-free options.
