Dear John,

Somehow we’re already nearing the end of this difficult year, which for me can only mean one thing: it’s competitive gift-giving season.  

Finding (or making!) the perfect gift gives me such a rush of adrenaline and satisfaction.  

For my girlfriend’s birthday this year, I was able to get in touch with their favorite author to sign a copy of a book and include a personal message for them. I’m also currently working on sewing a home-made “Happy Birthday” banner for my 9-month-old nephew to enjoy at his first birthday in a few months. 

So, from a gifting fiend, here’s my NWLC gift guide for you—with the added bonus that any gift you buy a loved one (or yourself—no judgment here!) from our shop helps support our work on behalf of women and girls.  

And of course, if buying gifts just isn’t in your budget this year, we get it. Thank you for all the meaningful ways you contribute to our community, whether it’s sharing our content on social media or taking our email actions. It all makes a difference. 

For your coziest loved one: 

My girlfriend tells me I’m “extremely skilled” at getting comfy in the shortest amount of time possible. And it’s true! For the person in your life who sports the softest sweatpants and the warmest hats, might I recommend: our signature beanie and hoodie, and our “We Protect Us” CROPPED FLEECE hoodie and sweatpants? Yeah, you heard that right. Cropped and fleece. 

For the person in your life who’s ready to burn it all down: 

This year’s been tough. And we all need an outlet.  

I know *exactly* who in my life needs our "Burn Down the Patriarchy" candle and matchbook, or one of our "Ban Male Podcasts" or "Abortion Saves Lives" tees. 

For the lawyer in your life: 

We’re the National Women’s Law Center. Of course we have a few ideas for the lawyer in your life who’s fed up with this administration. As a lawyer myself, I’m 99% sure (lawyers love to hedge) that any lawyer loved ones would rock our “I Took an Oath” tee or our “Courage Is Contagious” tee.
