Dear Friend,
As we gather in gratitude this Thanksgiving, all of us at USCRI extend our heartfelt appreciation for you. This season reminds us of the values that unite our community — compassion, generosity, and the belief that every person deserves safety and dignity.
What a year of immense challenges it has been! The communities we serve experienced more need, shrinking resources, and increasingly complex policies to navigate. Yet these challenges strengthened our resolve to protect the rights and dignity of displaced people, standing up for humane policies, and ensuring that every newcomer can find safety and stability.
Two weeks ago, I visited Kakuma, Kenya, which houses more than 300,000 — mostly women and children. We witnessed the colossal suffering of people who live in the harshest conditions in a camp that was never designed for human beings. I am humbly reminded that our mission at USCRI is more critical today than ever before. We must continue to seek ways to advocate for humane treatment of refugees.
Friend, your commitment and support make this work possible. Every act of giving helps us extend comfort and opportunity to those who have endured unimaginable hardship. You are part of a community that refuses to look away. Together, we choose to uplift, empower, and stand with the world’s most vulnerable.
This Thanksgiving, I am profoundly grateful for your partnership. Your support helps build communities of welcome and ensures that hope is never out of reach for those seeking refuge.
We wish you and your loved ones a warm, joyful, and peaceful Thanksgiving holiday. From all of us at USCRI, thank you for the light you bring into the lives of so many.
With much appreciation,
