Dear Jack,
Before we head into the true rush of Thanksgiving then the Christmas season, I’m writing from my kitchen table before the house wakes up. The coffee is hot, the Bible is open to Luke 9:23-25 and I’m praying for you and for the success of our mission.
This year has been nothing short of miraculous. Josh Stein’s veto of HB805 (Prevent Sexual Exploitation/Women and Minors), containing protections against pornography, rights for de-transitioners to sue their doctors, parental rights to keep their children from harmful materials in school and protect them on overnight field trips, and establishing that there are only 2 genders was overridden, parents were given special protection to raise their children according to their biological sex (SB 442, Parents Protection Act), and we began the process of defunding Planned Parenthood for good. None of it would have happened without you.
Next Tuesday is the day the world calls “#GivingTuesday.” I’ll be honest: I’ve never loved the name. It feels like the world is trying to schedule generosity. But you and I know real giving doesn’t wait for a calendar date. Still, it’s a good reminder to pause and ask: “Lord, where do You want the resources You’ve entrusted to me to go before this year ends?”
If the Lord lays NC Values on your heart, I’ll be grateful. If He points you somewhere else, I’ll rejoice. Either way, I’m thankful for you.
