Top Expenses — Roy Cooper for U.S. Senate: 🚗 Travel — we have to build out a budget for getting Roy out to every corner of North Carolina to meet face to face with as many voters as possible. We know from experience: That’s the key to winning this swing state. 👥 Staff — hiring and paying our staff is one of our TOP campaign expenditures. We knew we’d need to hire the best in the business, and we’re still growing. This is a statewide campaign, and we need a statewide presence. 💻 TV & Online ads — they help us get the word out, but they aren’t free.

We plan carefully for these expenses and more — really down to the last cent. If we don’t raise the funds we plan on, we have to curtail our planned efforts.
Meanwhile, we’re facing hundreds of millions in investment from the GOP, who see Roy as the top threat to their Senate majority.
Experts say this could even become the very first billion-dollar Senate race.
Here’s what that means financially speaking: We don’t just have to plan around our own budget. We have to account for our opponent’s, too. We have to be able to keep up with Republicans dollar for dollar — and if we miss this goal, we won’t have the funds we need.
