I need to be honest: It’s harder to feel the Thanksgiving spirit this year.
Yes, I have a lot to be grateful for – my family, my beautiful home state, and this grassroots team that inspires me every day.
But as I look around at the country I love and think about the conversations I’ve had with Michiganders in recent weeks, I feel deeply frustrated.
People are scared. People are angry. And I understand.
I’m not grateful that millions of Americans lost emergency food assistance earlier this month – and that food banks across the country are seeing record-high lines heading into the holidays.
I’m not grateful that a Republican-led government shutdown ground vital agencies to a halt. Even now, air traffic controllers are still playing catch-up while families try to make it home to their loved ones.
I’m not grateful that health care costs are skyrocketing and critical tax credits are at risk – all while massive insurance companies rake in record profits.
I’m not grateful that too many working Michiganders can’t afford rent, groceries, or basic necessities while Donald Trump tears up the White House to build himself a massive, gold-plated ballroom.
And I’m certainly not grateful for a MAGA leadership that pals around with billionaires while working families fall further behind.
But here’s what I am grateful for: the chance to fight back.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to build something better. And to work every day to make it happen.
I’m grateful for the people I meet all across Michigan – the hard-working parents, the students determined to build a better future, and the union workers standing shoulder to shoulder in solidarity.
I’m grateful for the state that raised me – for the grit, the determination, and the belief that public service means actually showing up for the people you love.
I’m grateful for the chance to represent Michigan to try and make things better for the people who’ve been left behind and deserve so much more.
And I’m especially grateful for every person who’s been part of this fight – who’s shown up to an event, shared their story, or simply stood with me.
Thanksgiving should be a time of connection, peace, and reflection. I hope you find all three this week.
But if you don’t – if you’re worried about bills, struggling to find a job, or anxious about your kid’s future – please know: You are not alone.
I see you. I’m with you. And I promise, I’ll never stop fighting for you.
Happy Thanksgiving.
With grit,
Haley
A personal note from Haley 👋

I’m a lifelong Michigander and the daughter of small-business owners. I’ve spent my career fighting for Michigan’s working families – and now I’m running for the U.S. Senate to keep standing up for the people I love.

But here’s the truth: Senate control could come down to Michigan. And Trump and his megadonors know it. That’s why they’re gearing up to spend tens of millions to defeat me and hand this seat to a MAGA Republican.

I need your help to fight back. This race will be one of the most competitive – and expensive – in the country, and I’m counting on grassroots support to win.

If you’re with me, will you chip in today?
