I work for YOU in Congress.

In Washington, one of my top priorities is taking care of our servicemembers and veterans.

I served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. Whether you’re a veteran, active-duty, or someone you love is in the military, you know firsthand that serving our nation is a year-round job for many.

It’s not easy having an empty chair at the table or being the one on orders missing time at home with your loved ones.

During the holidays, and always, our troops and their families are in my prayers.

PASSED: Military Construction and VA Budget

This month, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs budget bill with my support. This legislation was signed into law by President Trump.

Through my seat on the House Appropriations Committee, I have consistently advanced and crafted budget bills that put our military community and veterans FIRST.

Many of my priorities for veterans were passed in this legislation, including fully funding veterans' healthcare, benefits, and VA programs.

The bill also included a congressional directive urging the VA to expedite plans to replace the aging Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans Hospital in San Antonio with a new, state-of-the-art facility.

Improving Dental Care for Rural Veterans

This month, I introduced the Rural Veterans Dental Care Act.

Too often, veterans are driving hours to access their VA dental care. My legislation bridges this gap by creating a pilot program to provide dental care to veterans in rural areas through mobile units.

Serving Our Veterans

Team Gonzales is always hard at work ensuring our veterans are taken care of.

We've helped almost 1,000 individuals with Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense casework and returned over $1.9 million from the federal government back to veterans and active-duty servicemembers in TX-23.

One of the many services my office offers is help with a federal agency. If you are in need of assistance with the Department of Veterans Affairs, visit my website or call my San Antonio office at 210-806-9920.
