Today I filed my 47th lawsuit against Donald Trump in just 44 weeks.
The Trump administration has announced new, unlawful restrictions on a grant program that funds affordable housing — one that’s worked under both Democratic and Republican presidents to help provide stable housing for the most vulnerable among us. These restrictions would force tens of thousands of formerly homeless individuals and their families back onto the street.
Slashing this grant funding is against the law — so yet again, I’ll see the President in court.
Help me keep up the fight against this lawless and reckless administration — chip in today.
The new funding restrictions fundamentally undermine the goal of providing dependable housing for people who need it.
→ They would mandate that only 30% of funds be used for permanent housing — down from nearly 90%.
→ They’d eliminate funding to organizations that acknowledge the existence of transgender people.
→ And they would discriminate against localities that don’t enforce policies the Trump administration favors, like bans on public camping.
The homelessness crisis in California and around the country demands our serious attention, concerted care, and unwavering effort. But these new restrictions from the Trump administration will worsen it.
I am determined to fight back, and I’m ready to argue our case against the President in court.
