Folks, let’s be real. Trump and his crew can’t come right out and say they want to kill Social Security – too many folks have paid into it.
So they lie. Say it’s wasteful. Say it’s going broke. Say Wall Street can do better. Say they’re “fixing” it.
Their idea of fixing it is closing offices, cutting staff, and making it harder for older Americans to qualify for disability. That's not fixing it – that's scrapping it for parts so they can cash in. 😡
Now, I’ll be straight with you: Social Security does need real improvements. But what's needed is a far cry from what Trump and his crew are talking about.
Right now, Social Security isn't keeping up with seniors' actual costs. And yes, the fund might face trouble in a decade or so.
So I helped introduce a couple bills that will *actually* fix Social Security:
1️⃣ One that makes sure benefits keep up with the real cost of living – because folks shouldn't have to choose between prescriptions, rent, or food.
2️⃣ And a second that makes the ultrawealthy pay their fair share – because that’s money we can use to protect Social Security and keep our promises to seniors.
