Clerk's Corner Newsletter

November 2025

Clerk Anthony G. Forlini

ON THE ROAD
WITH TONY...

Welcome to our November newsletter!

When we took office back in January, 2021, our aim was to set out with a list of goals to help improve service and perception of the Macomb County Clerk's Office.

As Thanksgiving approaches, I am very thankful that our hard-working staff helped fulfill all of those goals over the last several years, especially:

  • Eliminating daytime voice mail and having a live person answer the phone. In fact, a whopping 98 percent of our calls are handled by a knowledgeable live person.
  • Reducing wait times in any of our offices to under five minutes.
  • Enhancing a property "Fraud Notify" alert system, a free service that was mostly unknown to our residents and now boasts over 21,000 signups.
  • Restoring faith in our election systems by adding watermarked ballots, a groundbreaking "Historical Election Results" public access website and new enhanced protocols for future elections.
  • Establishing an efficient and effective CPL Department that combines application and fingerprinting, eliminating a trip to the sheriff department.
  • Unveiling a "Tract Index Project" program where land records will be eventually searched by property address, and/or legal description instead of just by name in the Register of Deeds Office.
  • Keeping your records safe and accessible with new state-of-the-art construction.

Please see our salute to Macomb County's veterans below, and make sure you have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving Day Holiday!

This is why Macomb's unofficial election results posted online faster

Christina Hall
Detroit Free Press

If you were keeping tabs on races in Macomb County on election night, you might have noticed something you haven't seen in a while — unofficial results showing up faster on the county elections department website.

By 9:15 p.m. Nov. 4, a little over an hour after the polls closed, the website showed 100% of precincts reporting unofficial results for Roseville's mayor and city council races and library ballot proposal as well as Richmond's uncontested council race. Around midnight, unofficial results in all of the races and proposals in the county were buttoned-up and showing on the county website.
