John,

Last week, several of my congressional colleagues put out a video to highlight a fundamental truth: The oath that service members swear is to the Constitution, and that they—who are required to obey legal orders—cannot be required to follow illegal ones.

Apparently, Congressman Scott Perry didn’t like that. He threw a fit—calling us hypocrites, calling us disgusting. He even accused us of “openly calling for insurrection.”

John, you’ve got to be kidding me. Scott Perry—who tried to throw out the votes of millions of Americans to help Donald Trump overturn a free and fair election—calling ME an insurrectionist?

Bullshit. I will not take a lecture about my military service or love of country from an oathbreaker like Scott Perry. And I’m sure he’s getting nervous and desperate because he knows the voters are going to end his political career at the ballot box next year.

What I will take seriously is the oath I swore to this country. The oath that I first raised my hand and swore to when I was 17 years old, starting at the United States Naval Academy. The same oath I swore when I had the honor of being elected our congressman: to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic.”

This is a lifelong oath, and I’ll be damned if I let anyone—especially someone who tried to overthrow an election—rewrite their treacherous history.

I was willing to risk my life in uniform for that oath, for our country. Now I’m asking you to stand with me and fight for it. Will you chip in $15, $25, or whatever you can to help me defend the Constitution, hold oathbreakers accountable, and protect our democracy from those who would tear it down? [[link removed]]
