*DACF Seeks Agroforestry Practitioners*

The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry is seeking agroforestry practitioners active in silvopasture and forest farming who are interested in sharing their experience as part of a panel at the 2026 Maine Agricultural Trades Show [ [link removed] ] in Augusta. The session will take place at the Augusta Civic Center on Wednesday, January 14, from 2:00–3:00 p.m.

*As a panel member, you would share:*

* How you began integrating agroforestry into your farm or forestry operation
* What resources you accessed
* The challenges you faced and lessons you learned
* How the Department can support the development of resources for beginning and experienced agroforesters

This request is part of the Department’s efforts to improve access to and adoption of agroforestry practices in Maine. Interested farmers and forest landowners may email Matt Boucher, State Soil Scientist, at [email protected]. Replies are requested by Wednesday, December 12, 2025.
