Folks, a far-right Republican just announced his campaign for Senate in Virginia, and he made one thing unmistakably clear:
He’s running to be Donald Trump’s partner in the U.S. Senate.
Before we explain what his entrance into the race means for Mark Warner’s campaign, please consider splitting a donation between Mark Warner’s reelection campaign and Virginia Lieutenant Governor-Elect Ghazala Hashmi to give us the early resources we need to protect this seat and flip the Senate blue >>>
Our new opponent kicked off his campaign by echoing the GOP’s favorite talking points: attacking Democrats as “radicals,” and promising unwavering loyalty to Trump.
Let’s be clear, folks, he is not running a Virginia-focused campaign.
He’s running a Trump-focused campaign, and that means he’ll be a rubber stamp for Trump’s agenda that is driving up costs, undermining affordable health care, and making Americans less safe.
To put it plainly, the stakes in this race just got that much higher.
This new opponent comes on the heels of Republican attacks on Senator Warner’s record delivering for Virginia: Donald Trump had a meltdown in the Oval Office and called Warner a “bad senator.” Laura Loomer launched a smear campaign against him on Twitter – calling for Warner to be “tried for treason” and “removed from office.”
Now, with a brand new opponent in this race, we’re expecting these attacks to intensify, and we need to be ready.
Will you split a donation today between Mark Warner’s reelection campaign and Virginia Lieutenant Governor-Elect Ghazala Hashmi? Your donation will help us fight back against whatever else Republicans throw our way so we can protect this seat and take back the Senate for Democrats.
